Yo–heads up over at Pungirls. There’s something coming up tomorrow (3/29), and then something else coming on Monday.
Also, did you see the guest strip I co-created for last Thursday over at Unwinder’s Tall Comics?
Finally, I’m still delivering the webcomics week-in-review every Friday over at This Week in Webcomics. Come on over, get some recommendations, and talk about webcomics.
So, even as the Fundraiser Drive continues apace, I have managed to create a comic. You can see it above! I have actually managed to create two comics, the second of which will go up tomorrow, and the original art for this comic will be available for purchase in the store. Proceeds from sold comics and stuff will go toward the Fundraiser Drive!
So, that’s that. Another reminder: if you’re around, be sure and catch me at A and G Ohio 2009 this weekend. On Saturday morning from 9 to 10, I’ll be giving a panel on “The Harsh Truth About Webcomics,” with a follow-up panel on Sunday at 12.
So that’s the news. Hope to see you at the con.
As you can see from the progress chart in the sidebar, so far the Fundraiser Drive has earned $10, and has $110 to go. I’d like to thank those of you who’ve donated so far. Also, if you haven’t donated already, I’d like to encourage you to consider doing so. Upon donating, you’ll be given a password and be redirected to a special page where you can access the full-color Sunday-style comic in advance, before it is published to the main site after the drive is completed. Just my way of giving something back to people who contribute, no matter how small.
Also, original Borderline Boy comics are available for purchase through the Pungirls store. Anything that you purchase from the Pungirls store is counted toward the total for the Fundraiser Drive, so it’s a great way to contribute and receive actual physical things that you can own.
I have mixed feelings about this Fundraiser Drive thing. I mean, it occurred to me that it’s kind of like holding my comic for ransom, which is a lame thing to do. But at the same time, I need to focus on other things right now, important things like getting a full-time job. I do want to get back into a regular cartooning groove, though, and even while I’m taking care of business, I’m making plans for the future.
Thanks for all your support, everyone. I’ll keep you posted on what’s up.
My friend Tania Harrison has begun work on revising the website. Thus, at present, the comic archive is…more than a bit messy. It should be cleaned up tomorrow, but until then, sit tight. Tomorrow will also bring a new comic–as promised.
UPDATE, 1/28: The comic archive has been fixed and is displaying properly now, but the blog archive display is a little bit broken for the time being. However, work on the blog archive is underway. I’ll update this post further once everything’s in working order.
UPDATE, 1/31: Things are looking a good deal better now! About the only problem with the blog archive is that the font scales down a size, but hey, still looks good, still legible. Have a look around and enjoy the new improvements to the site.
Hey, guys. Lately I’ve been getting a little feedback on the artwork from various people online and offline, so I figured I’d drop a post and ask you a couple questions about the artwork. You can either comment below or email me (borderlineboy <at> gmail <dot> com), whichever way you prefer. I’m particularly interested in hearing what regular readers have to say, but feel free to respond whether this is your first time at the site or your fiftieth.
1) Do you like the entirely hand-drawn comics better, or the digitally-lettered-and-produced ones?
2) Do you ever have legibility issues, or wish the comic were bigger?
3) On a related note: what size is your desktop resolution?
Also feel free to drop any additional comments you may have. Thanks for your feedback, guys!
