My job recently got shifted to part-time, so I need to do some job hunting and find additional employment. And I really need to focus on that–really get my business together–before I devote my attention to the comic. I want to be able to give the comic the daily attention that it requires, and at this point I can’t justify that in light of my present employment situation. This didn’t really affect you, my various and sundry readers, until I ran out of backlogged comics.

But rest assured that once I get things straightened out, I’ll be back on top of this thing like a fiend. This story–this story about Jay, his friends, his job, his life–is worth telling, and I intend to tell it, even if it’s just to some fifty people on the internet. That is just the sort of thing I do.

Update, 5/23/08: I removed the random sketch comics from the archive and gave them their own space on DrunkDuck. If at any time in the future I happen to have an idea for a comic that I can scribble out in like half an hour, I’ll post it up over there. But as for now, comics take a backseat to the quest for gainful employment.

This is kind of a weird strip. I mean, that verse there in the first panel is an extremely meaningful verse to me personally. I wanted to make a comic about it because it’s meaningful to me. But the result is pretty silly. So…I dunno. It’s a comic that I made.

One last thing I wanted to mention. You’ve seen me link to the webcomic T-N-T; you’ve seen its lead character Trent make a cameo in my comic, and you’ve seen Jay make cameos in T-N-T; you’ve maybe even seen its creator posting comments on Borderline Boy comics as “speearr.” Well, T-N-T had its final comic this past Sunday. It’s a fine conclusion to a fine webcomic which, through daily persistence, has only gotten better since day one. So go on over and give it a proper goodbye, ‘kay? Go see the final comic.

So over the weekend, I went to see Iron Man, and I made a comic about it. It will be showing up here tomorrow–or, you know, you can vote at Buzzcomix and see it right now.

In case you’re curious: in yesterday’s comic, the drawing based on an actual stock photo was the second one: the bride. Congrats to Speearr, who correctly guessed the photo, and Tsumire-chan, who…did not. Thanks for guessing, you guys. That was fun.
