It can certainly be hard to get people to understand, but it can be equally hard to even talk about it. You may recall that Jay has trouble getting the words to come out right.
I know that I myself end up talking about all these ancillary things other than the plain and simple good news that Jesus Christ died for me. For whatever reason, it’s easy to get sidetracked.
Yeah, I find it hard to tell people, especially friends, because I’m always afraid I’m going to say something that will make them think I’m trying to push my beliefs on them.
“Everyone’s got a different perception of my religion.”
This is because there are Christians in this world who “think being a Christian means being a good person, or going to church or [opposing] gay marriage or following a bunch of ‘Thou shalt nots.’” Unfortunately in this case, first impressions do last, or at least, leave such a strong impression on a person that it takes a lot of patience, listening, being a good friend and sharing your faith through actions before you can even begin talking about Jesus. I dunno… I usually wait for my friends to directly ask me questions, but maybe I’m just being a coward and should be more proactive.
