    It’s gritty and realistic. Good work! I’m also enjoying reading your webcomic blog. It IS your webcomic blog, isn’t it?

  2. Jackson Says:

    Haha–it sure is, speearr. Thanks for reading along over at This Week in Webcomics, and thanks a bunch for the kind words on the art for this strip. If you ever start up a new comic project of your own, just let me know–maybe I’ll do some kind of feature on it for TWIW! :)

    Oooh, different art direction (mostly? second panel sticks out as being the most simplistic, similar to previous strips, with the exception of Jay’s pants).

    But I’m just being a little nit picky up there in the parenthesis. ^^;

    This a great strip…makes me think how I’ve had even my bed for a long time. Probably since I was eight, so soon it’ll be about ten years I’ve had it. Doubt I’d want to keep it and take it with me post college graduation, though, considering it’s a huge, bunk bed like thing.

    Question: Is the “Jesus Christ” in the first panel an exclamation or an address? :P I kinda how in the context of the strip it realistically could be taken as either…

  4. Jackson Says:

    Glad you like it, Tsu-chan. Some beds work better for portability than others. :) As for the art, it’s not really a new “direction,” but just something that creating strips entirely freehand really lends itself to. I think the style suits this particular subject matter well, too. I still should’ve put a few more wrinkles and details in Jay’s shirt in panel two, and I still just may, but it’s my custom to try and keep moving forward rather than perfectionistically going back to edit old strips. ::shrugs:: We’ll see!

    As to whether panel one’s “Jesus Christ” is an exclamation or address…I think it’s best for the reader to consider what they know of Jay, and answer the question for themselves. :)
