Yep. I’m takin’ a Borderline Break.
My job recently got shifted to part-time, so I need to do some job hunting and find additional employment. And I really need to focus on that–really get my business together–before I devote my attention to the comic. I want to be able to give the comic the daily attention that it requires, and at this point I can’t justify that in light of my present employment situation. This didn’t really affect you, my various and sundry readers, until I ran out of backlogged comics.
But rest assured that once I get things straightened out, I’ll be back on top of this thing like a fiend. This story–this story about Jay, his friends, his job, his life–is worth telling, and I intend to tell it, even if it’s just to some fifty people on the internet. That is just the sort of thing I do.
If you’d like to be updated when I start making Borderline Comics again, please send an email to borderlineboy {at} gmail {dot} com. Thanks for your interest in the comic, everyone–I will get right back on it as soon as possible.
Update, 5/23/08: I removed the random sketch comics from the archive and gave them their own space on DrunkDuck. If at any time in the future I happen to have an idea for a comic that I can scribble out in like half an hour, I’ll post it up over there. But as for now, comics take a backseat to the quest for gainful employment.

Today’s looks real pretty, with shading and all. And it’s nice how you transition from the realism of the cartoon characters to the cartoony-feel of the artist. Don’t break for too long!

Thanks, man. I’m very pleased with the art on this one–it’s sort of ironic that I’d do my best artwork on the “hiatus comic.”
And you can bet I’ll be back as soon as I’ve secured myself some work. I’ll be sure and keep you posted!

That left panel looks like what most people think I’m doing in Hawaii, that right panel (with the exception of the newspaper/label) looks like how I feel in Hawaii =P
Hope you find a job, if only so we can see some new BB stuff soon! (and, dare I dream, pungirls?)
