If following Jesus Christ was really “for everyone,” I’d think God in his omniscience, omnipotence, and benevolence would have done a thing or two to make Jesus Christ and how to follow him compelling to everyone — heck, how about even *known* to everyone! If God made me who I am, then he should know that I require evidence before I believe things. If God wanted me to believe in him, he shouldn’t require that I go against every single one of me (God-given?) instincts to do so.
